Production Methodology

Wild Turkey does not distil to age statements; it distils one bourbon recipe and lets the rickhouse decide. For this release Eddie Russell pulled from a warehouse set where barrels had been sitting up to twenty years, taking the centre and upper floors where heat cycling is hardest on the wood, then blended those against ten-year stock so the age would not collapse into tannin. The bottling strength of 104 proof is a blending choice, not a barrel strength, and the whiskey goes into the bottle without chill filtration.
