What proof is Grey Goose Altius?
Grey Goose Altius is bottled at 40% ABV, which is 80 proof — the same strength as standard Grey Goose. Altius differs in its water and its handling, not its strength: it uses Alpine spring water rather than the brand's Gensac-la-Pallue well, is filtered at -24 °C, and is hand bottled and individually numbered.
How is Grey Goose Altius different from standard Grey Goose?
The water. Both use the same single-origin soft winter wheat from Picardie, but standard Grey Goose is blended with spring water from a limestone well at Gensac-la-Pallue in the Cognac region, while Altius uses spring water from the French Alps. Altius is then chilled and filtered at -24 °C, hand bottled and individually numbered.
When was Grey Goose Altius released?
Grey Goose announced Altius on 24 April 2024 as a small-volume expression. It launched first at European destinations including Ibiza, Mykonos and Saint-Tropez, then reached select cities in the United States and, later that year, Dubai.
