Announced

Two 14-year-old lots make up King of Kentucky Single Barrel 2026: 51 barrels that matured on the third floor of Warehouse I and 48 on the first floor of Warehouse L, 99 in all, every bottle filled from a single cask at full strength. Brown-Forman announced this Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey from Louisville on October 1, 2026, for chosen markets around the U.S., and each label carries its barrel number and bottling date written by hand.

Nº 01

The Elemental Distinction

01

Fourteen years. Both lots are 14 years old — three years younger than the 17-year 2025 release, and the age of the 2018 release that revived the label.

02

Two lots, two warehouses. One lot matured on the third floor of Warehouse I and the other on the first floor of Warehouse L, both at the Brown-Forman Distillery.

03

Cask strength. One barrel fills each bottle at the strength it left the cask, so its proof is that barrel's own; the front label reads Non-Chill Filtered.

04

Written by hand. Barrel number and bottling date are written by hand on every label.

05

Wax and canister. Dipped in wax and numbered by hand, the bottles go into a custom canister.

Back to Fourteen

The age that relaunched the label

King of Kentucky began in 1881 and went out of production in 1968, and when Brown-Forman revived it in 2018 the first release was a 14-year-old single-barrel bourbon drawn from 16 barrels and sold mainly in Kentucky. Fourteen years is the age again in 2026, now across 99 barrels, a year after the 17-year-old single barrels Chris Morris chose in 2025.

Sensory Profile & Strategy

Distiller notes & position
I

Sensory Profile

Brown-Forman's 2026 note opens fruit-forward on orange zest, caramel, dark chocolate and toasted marshmallow over nutty oak, moves to dark maple syrup over more orange zest, vanilla wafers and a little baked banana, and closes on a long finish of caramel and chocolate. The note speaks for the release as a whole; each bottle is one barrel, and the brand points out that every barrel has its own character.

II

Strategic Position

Its 99 barrels, against 63 in each of the 2024 and 2025 Single Barrel releases, and a 14-year age three years under 2025's set the 2026 release apart within the vertical. Alongside it, the three Small Batch bottlings Brown-Forman introduced in February 2026 cover the small-batch side of the 2026 line; the Single Barrel remains the fall release, one barrel per bottle at cask strength.

Records & Assurance

Production Methodology

Ninety-nine barrels in two 14-year-old lots went into the 2026 release. Every barrel was bottled separately at cask strength, and each filled bottle was sealed in wax and hand-numbered before going into its canister.

Authentication & Vault Preservation

Every bottle sold through Midnight Whiskey is sourced as an authentic, sealed product and inspected before it ships. Orders are packed with padded, glass-rated handling and require an adult signature (21+) on delivery; we do not ship to anyone unable to verify legal drinking age.
