What ABV is Macallan Harmony Intense Arabica?
44% ABV. It is the bolder of the two Harmony II releases — the travel-retail Smooth Arabica was bottled at 40%. Both were crafted by Whisky Maker Steven Bremner from sherry-seasoned European and American oak, with the four-point strength difference the main distinction between them.
What is the Intense Arabica packaging made from?
Repurposed coffee bean husks. The presentation box and the bottle label were made from cascara, the husk left over from coffee processing, developed into a hybrid paper with the paper expert Michele Posocco. That is the Harmony Collection's core premise — each release turns an organic by-product into its own packaging.
Does Macallan Intense Arabica contain coffee?
No. Scotch Whisky Association rules permit only water, malted barley and yeast in a single malt, so no coffee or flavouring of any kind can be added. The coffee character comes from cask selection — sherry-seasoned European and American oak — and from a brief that Whisky Maker Steven Bremner developed after studying coffee production with coffee masters.
