It is sold almost universally as Batch 15, a designation Buffalo Trace never issued, and a seller confident enough to state a batch number is usually not distinguishing between the three 2025 bottlings at all. Ask for the proof. Reports consistently describe this as having surfaced in smaller quantities than the 127.2, which is the principal bottling of the year — worth weighing, though Buffalo Trace publishes no outturn for any release and the comparison is observational.

Use it as the control for bottle age. Everything else in this range has years of glass behind it — the 2012 and 2013 openers are well over a decade old in bottle, and even the middle releases have sat long enough for a part-full bottle to have moved. This one has barely a year, which makes it the only release in the line where what reaches you is close to what left the distillery.
