Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof is a small-batch bottling — multiple hand-selected barrels blended together and bottled at the combined strength — not a single-barrel release. Every bottle carrying this year's proof is therefore the same whiskey: the 129.3 on the label is a specification for the whole release rather than a figure that varies bottle to bottle. That is the opposite of the Taylor Single Barrel, or of Blanton's, where each bottle records its own barrel and the contents genuinely differ. It is also why identification by proof works at all on this line. If these were single barrels, the number on the face would describe one bottle rather than one year, and the laser code would be the only thing tying a bottle to a release.
