Wild Turkey Master's Keep Triumph is a small-batch Kentucky straight rye bottled at 104 proof (52% ABV) and carrying a ten-year age statement, which the distillery describes as the oldest it has ever put on a Wild Turkey rye. Master Distiller Eddie Russell laid the barrels down a decade earlier and blended them at the prompting of his son Bruce, the distillery's associate blender, whose preference for rye drove the project. Announced on 15 May 2024, it reached shelves that June as the second rye in the Master's Keep run, after Cornerstone in 2019 — and, with the series closing a year later, its last.

Nº 01

The Elemental Distinction

01

Ten-year age statement, which Wild Turkey describes as the oldest it has ever printed on one of its ryes.

02

Bottled at 104 proof (52% ABV) from a small batch of barrels Eddie Russell set aside ten years before release.

03

The second rye in the Master's Keep series after Cornerstone in 2019; everything else in the run was bourbon, apart from the bourbon-and-rye blend of 2022.

04

Wild Turkey credits the idea to Bruce Russell, Eddie's son and the distillery's associate blender, whose interest in rye pushed his father toward the style.

05

Announced 15 May 2024, sold by presale in select markets in early June and in stores before Father's Day — the tenth Master's Keep edition worldwide, the ninth sold in the United States.

Wild Turkey & Russell Lineage

Third-Generation Kentucky Craftsmanship

Distilled at Wild Turkey Distilling Co. along the Kentucky River in Lawrenceburg, Master's Keep Triumph honors the expanding influence of Bruce Russell alongside Master Distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell. Triumph demonstrates that patient aging can tame rye's aggressive pepperiness into complex orchard fruit, custard, and polished oak.

Craftsmanship & Cask Architecture

Decade-Aged Rye Maturation
10-Year Minimum Aging

No. 4 Char American Oak

Aged a full decade in heavy alligator-char barrels, imparting deep honeyed sweetness, clove, and polished oak.

Small Batch Selection

Hand-Selected Reserves

Eddie and Bruce Russell hand-selected prime honey barrels from Wild Turkey's oldest pre-prohibition style rye warehouses.

High-Rye Mash Bill

Kentucky Straight Rye

Distilled from Wild Turkey's classic high-rye mash bill, yielding vibrant citrus, herbal spice, date sugar, and dark chocolate.

104 Proof Bottling

Precision Concentration

Bottled at 104 proof (52% ABV), giving the aged spirit optimal texture and aromatic intensity without alcohol heat.

Sensory Profile & Strategy

Master Distiller Tasting Notes
I

Sensory Profile

Nose: Custard and vanilla lead, cut by a green herbal streak, with baked apple, pear, and a dusting of nutmeg behind them.
Palate: Honey arrives first, then clove-led spice, and dark chocolate and date sugar fill the middle at full strength.
Finish: Long, on coffee and cocoa, with black pepper landing late and staying.

II

Strategic Position

Rye is the part of the Wild Turkey portfolio that went longest without serious attention, and Triumph is what happened when someone finally left it alone for a decade. It follows the rum-finished bourbon that came before it and precedes the bourbon that closed the collection in 2025 within the Master's Keep archive at Midnight Whiskey.

Records & Assurance

Production Methodology

Wild Turkey distils its rye on the same equipment and at the same low barrel-entry strength as its bourbon, and for most of the distillery's modern history that rye was bottled young. Triumph is the exception: Eddie Russell selected the barrels a decade before release and left them in new American oak, tasting through them over the years rather than pulling to a schedule, then blended a small batch and bottled it at 104 proof. The ten-year statement on the label is the age of the youngest whiskey in that blend, as federal labelling requires; reviewers who asked report older stock in the mix, up to twelve years. Wild Turkey does not print the grain percentages for its rye recipe, and the figures published by third parties do not agree.

Authentication & Vault Preservation

Every bottle sold through Midnight Whiskey is sourced as an authentic, sealed product and inspected before it ships. Orders are packed with padded, glass-rated handling and require an adult signature (21+) on delivery; we do not ship to anyone unable to verify legal drinking age. For our full sourcing and handling protocols, see our editorial and authentication standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

How old is Wild Turkey Master's Keep Triumph?

Master's Keep Triumph carries a ten-year age statement. Under federal labelling rules that figure is the age of the youngest whiskey in the blend, and reviewers report portions of the small batch at up to twelve years.

Is Master's Keep Triumph the oldest rye Wild Turkey has released?

It is the oldest age-stated rye, by Wild Turkey's own description. Nothing later displaced it either: the Master's Keep collection closed in September 2025 with a bourbon, so Triumph holds the position permanently.

Was Master's Keep Triumph the last rye in the Master's Keep series?

Yes. Master's Keep produced two ryes — Cornerstone in 2019 and Triumph in 2024 — and the series ended in September 2025 with Beacon, a Kentucky straight bourbon.
