A joven is a blend rather than an age classification, and this one draws on three parts of the Clase Azul range. Plata supplies the unaged agave character; the Reposado component adds eight months in oak; and Clase Azul Ultra, the house's five-year expression, supplies the depth. The release's own description places the Ultra in reclaimed sherry casks, which is where the dried fruit and cocoa in the blend come from. The agave is 100% Blue Weber, and the finished blend is bottled at 40% ABV. The decanter is bone-white ceramic, hand-finished like the rest of the range, with a skull carved into the base and marigold decoration — the flower conventionally used to guide the dead during the holiday.
