The 17th Limited Edition Small Batch went on sale on 14 September 2024 at Four Roses' two Kentucky visitor centers, the distillery in Lawrenceburg and the warehouse and bottling facility in Cox's Creek; from that September it reached select retailers across the United States, with a suggested retail price of $220 for the 750 mL bottle. Kirin Holdings has owned Four Roses since 2002, and its European company, Kirin Europe GmbH of Düsseldorf, is named on this bottle's 70 cl label.

Production Methodology

Every Four Roses recipe starts from one of two mash bills — B at 60% corn and 35% rye, or E at 75% corn and 20% rye, each with 5% malted barley — and one of five proprietary yeasts, which gives the distillery ten bourbons to draw on. Barrels are aged in single-story rack warehouses, a layout Four Roses says holds the spread between top and bottom racks to about 8°F, against as much as 30°F in multi-story warehouses. The 2024 blend took its OESF, OBSV and OESK batches, aged 12 to 20 years, from those ten and was bottled at barrel strength with no chill filtration.
